The Must Have exhibition by Marcello Reboani, curated by Melissa Proietti, will be inaugurated on Friday 2 December at 6 p.m. in the prestigious exhibition spaces of Fabio Falsaperla’s La Nuvola Gallery. Some thirty works depicting the must-haves of style: the garments to have at all costs, the must-have accessories, the cult bags and shoes. Energy and metamorphosis of materials, the everyday materials of the works are contrasted with the ‘rich’ ones of the society of customs, hoping for a perfect fusion between art and life.
Reboani touches sculpture in provocative terms, works that can best be defined by the term assemblage, coined precisely to define these three-dimensional collage operations. Beneath the glittering and glamorous patina of the iconic objects, materialised in a pop key, appears his material universe, made strictly from recycled materials. Works in mixed media, stratifications, wooden boards superimposed and mixed with aluminium, copper, steel, glass and lead. Also on show will be an unpublished production of maps, planispheres in mixed media, archipelagos and islands visited by the artist.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a bilingual catalogue published by Maretti editore with an introduction by Barbara Martusciello and texts by Adriana Mulassano, Francesca Molteni, Paolo Falcone, Eduardo Montefusco, Federica Naj Oleari and Chiara Rapaccini.
